Phlockers
Our organization consists of people who
flock to enjoy the literary works and musical styling of Jimmy Buffett and
the Coral Reefer Band and the tropical lifestyle personified by Jimmy
Buffett. In July, 2006, the Dubuque Phlockers became an officially
sanctioned chapter of Parrot Heads in Paradise, Inc.
Our primary purpose is to perform charity fund-raising and community
service work in and around the Dubuque area and have fun while doing so.
In other words, to "party with a purpose" in an effort to make
our community just a little better than we found it.

As a sanctioned club
of PHIP beginning on July 6, 2006, the membership (PHlock) of the
Dubuque Phlockers as already swelled to 105 Parrot Heads in our short 2½
year history. While the majority of our membership comes from the
Eastern Iowa City of Dubuque and its surrounding communities along with
those found in Southwest Wisconsin and Northwestern Illinois, we are
also proud to have members from Minnesota, Nebraska and even South
Carolina.
Throughout the year
and especially during the summer months, you'll find members of the
phlock diligently "partying with a purpose" as we set out to
make our community a little better than we found it. Our annual One
Particular Harbour party, hosted near the historic Ice Harbor/Port of
Dubuque, has allowed our non-profit organization to raise and
subsequently donate nearly $10,000 in our short history to the
Make-A-Wish Foundation of Iowa, our primary benefactor.
In other parties including our Phlock Through the Lock and Rover on the
River/Critter Cruise, the Dubuque Phlockers have raised and subsequently
donate nearly $2,000 in cash along with another estimated $500 worth of
needed pet supplies to the Dubuque Regional Humane Society. Through it
all, the phlock works diligently to keep strong family bonds by offering
several "parakeet-friendly events" (including camping,
bowling, and skating excursions) so that our younger members will know
"we are the people their parents warned them about."
In addition to
"partying it up" for our own causes, we enjoy getting out and
supporting the extremely fun gatherings hosted by our neighboring clubs!
Members of the Dubuque Phlockers meet socially (generally on the first
Thursday of) every month and host "open-door business"
meetings generally on the third Thursday of every month. Check our Club

only thing we enjoy more than Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers,
frosty Land Shark Lagers or those "frozen concoctions that help us
hang on" is meeting and making new friends!
