 Barefoot
Children of Ft Lauderdale PHC
Our focus is on social
needs and concerns of the local community, the preservation of our
environment and its ecosystem, and the continuing research in the
elimination of catastrophic disease. Through the ideals, the
teachings and the examples set forth in the life, the music and writings
of Jimmy Buffett, we strive to leave this world a little better than we
found it … and have a BLAST while doing so.

Officially PHiP
Chartered on January 25, 2007 by PHounders Todd Moore and Tom Hatley,
the Southern Illinois Parrot Head Club (SIPHC) set sail, doing our
part(y), to leave
Southern Illinois
a bit better than we found it. SIPHC currently has around 100 Members
and has established a reputation as a social, and charitable,
organization in the community by lending a wing to such worthwhile
causes as Companion Pet Rescue, area Humane Shelters, Bridge Medical
Clinic, Hospice of Southern Illinois, Pat’s Kids, and Golf for Life.
In addition, SIPHC participates in National Events such as Relay for
Life, Alzheimer’s Walk, Special Olympics, Adopt a Highway, and an
upcoming Arthritis Walk.
In
fact, during our two trips around the sun the Club has raised over
$20,000 for charity, received a Dedication Award from Companion Pet
Rescue and the Humanitarian Award from Hospice of Southern Illinois all
while having a lot of phun in the process, proving one should never
underestimate the power of Parrot Heads in large groups! However the
real signature “cawing” card of the SIPHC is Compassionate
PHriendship for each other and the communities in which we PHlock,
with appreciation of that “Little Bit of Fruitcake in All of Us”!
The Southern Illinois
Parrot Head Club appreciates this opportunity to spotlight who we are
and what we do. In addition, we invite the PHiP and Margaritaville
Nation to join us for our Monthly Meetings held the 2nd
Tuesday of each month with Caw to Order at 7:15pm. Locations may be
accessed here as
we constantly migrate in an effort to accommodate the PHlock and spread
our wings.
Let the fin begin,
Barbie Moore, Secretary, SIPHC
